Does not require pollination. Forms up to 8 gherkins per knot.
An early ripening (38-42 days from germination to fruiting) parthenocarpic hybrid of the female flowering type, intended for cultivation in open and protected ground.
The fruits is cylindrical in shape, 7-9 cm long, weighing 80-90 g, the tubercles are medium, often located. 7-10 ovaries are formed in each leaf axil.
Recommended for collecting pickles and gherkins to obtain high-quality canned food. The hybrid is resistant to true and downy mildew, olive spot and root rot. Productivity 10.5-11.5 kg/m2.
Cucumis sativus L.
* Why grow several different varieties or hybrids?
Cucumber hybrids can be divided, like runners, into sprinters and stayers. The former are early ripening, quickly form and give a harvest together, but quickly "get tired" due to natural aging. An early harvest can be obtained by using female flowering hybrids, forming them into one stem and harvesting from the main stem. The latter begin to bear fruit later, bear fruit at once - not so abundantly, but can consistently give a harvest for a long time. The productive period of cucumber fruiting is 8-10 weeks, after which the yield decreases due to the aging of the plants. To extend the fruiting period of cucumber, both hybrids of different fruiting intensity and separate plantings over time are used.
